Recycling and Trash Pickup

 

  • All bedding (mattress and box springs of all sizes) must be wrapped in plastic to protect the sanitation workers prior to being placed out for pick up. Violations of this requirement may be subject to a fine.


  • Household electronics including televisions and monitors may not be put out for municipal trash collection. These items are to be disposed of at an e-cycling event held by Delaware County throughout the year.

    Note:  Containers, boxes, baskets, and cans, shall be placed along the curb for collection not before 6:00 p.m. on the day prior to collection and removed not later than 7:00 a.m. on the day following collection.

     

    Recycling  will now be collected every Wednesday

    •  Tin and Steel Aerosol Cans (empty)
    •  Empty Glass Jars & bottles
    •  All Plastic Containers Labeled 1,2,4,5,& 6



    Do NOT put these items in your container:

    Place materials; (except paper and cardboard) in one container.  Paper and cardboard must be bundled separately



    Trash Pickup
    The borough is divided into 2 sections.
    Monday and Thursday:
    Trash pickup is the North Side of Baltimore Pike and also includes on the South Side of Baltimore Pk, Marple Ave, E. Broadway, Jackson St and E. Washington.

    Tuesday and Friday:
    Trash pickup for the remainder of the South Side of Baltimore Pike.

    There is no trash pickup on Holidays.   If your scheduled trash day falls on a holiday then your trash will not be picked up until your next scheduled trash pick-up.

    Residents are allowed up to two thirty gallon containers up to  40 pounds in weight. We do not pick up building rubbish from building construction, street refuse, industrial refuse, dead animals, machinery or vehicles or parts thereof or such other waste materials as are not commonly produced in homes.

    All residents are required to have trash cans with lids.

    Storage

    All trash, garbage or rubbish shall be contained in airtight, vermin proof containers, which containers shall be in an enclosed area and screened from view.


    NO TRASH COLLECTION on the follow days:
    -New Years Day, Jan 1st
    -Martin Luther King, Jan 20st
    -Memorial Day, May 25th
    -Labor Day, Sept 7th
    -Thanksgiving Day, Nov 26th
    -Christmas Day, Dec 25th

    -New Year's day Jan 1 2021

    If the holiday falls on a regular service day, we will resume service on the next normal scheduled service day
