Recycling and Trash Pickup


Note:  Containers, boxes, baskets, and cans, shall be placed along the curb for collection not before 6:00 p.m. on the day prior to collection and removed not later than 7:00 a.m. on the day following collection.


Recycling  will now be collected every Wednesday

Please DO Recycle These Items:

  •  Magazine, Catalogs & envelopes
  •  Newspapers, Insets & Junk Mail
  •  Paperback Books & Phone Books
  •  Cardboard & clean Pizza Boxes
  •  Office & school papers (colored paper too)
  •  Boxboard (cereal, cakes & cracker Boxes
  •  Paper egg cartons
  •  Aluminum Cans & clean foil
  •  Tin and Steel Aerosol Cans (empty)
  •  Empty Glass Jars & bottles
  •  All Plastic Containers Labeled 1,2,4,5,& 6

Do NOT put these items in your container:

  • X NO Garbage or Food Waste
  • X NO Plastic Bags
  • X NO Yard Waste or Garden Tools
  • X NO Food Tainted Items (used paper plates,towel,cups)
  • X NO Polystyrene Cups or Plated
  • X NO Motor Oil Bottles
  • X NO Hazardous Chemical Containers
  • X NO Plastic Toys or Sporting Goods
  • X NO Electronics, Batteries Compact Disks or DVD's
  • X NO Foam Egg or Ice Cream Cartons
  • X NO Light Bulbs or Hangers

Place materials; (except paper and cardboard) in one container.  Paper and cardboard must be bundled separately

Trash Pickup
The borough is divided into 2 sections.
Monday and Thursday:
Trash pickup is the North Side of Baltimore Pike and also includes on the South Side of Baltimore Pk, Marple Ave, E. Broadway, Jackson St and E. Washington.

Tuesday and Friday:
Trash pickup for the remainder of the South Side of Baltimore Pike.

There is no trash pickup on Holidays.   If your scheduled trash day falls on a holiday then your trash will not be picked up until your next scheduled trash pick-up.

Residents are allowed up to two thirty gallon containers up to  40 pounds in weight. We do not pick up building rubbish from building construction, street refuse, industrial refuse, dead animals, machinery or vehicles or parts thereof or such other waste materials as are not commonly produced in homes.

All residents are required to have trash cans with lids.
Appliance pick up is the last Wednesday of each month. Call Borough to schedule pickup
*$20 fee required for appliances with Freon.


All trash, garbage or rubbish shall be contained in airtight, vermin proof containers, which containers shall be in an enclosed area and screened from view.

NO TRASH COLLECTION on the follow days:
-New Years Day, Jan 1st
-Martin Luther King, Jan 21st
-Memorial Day, May 27th
-Independence Day, July 4th
-Labor Day, Sept 2nd
-Thanksgiving Day, Nov 28th
-Christmas Day, Dec 25th

If the holiday falls on a regular service day, we will resume service on the next normal scheduled service day
